The Claiborne County Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock!” finished up on July 17th with a huge party at the library with prizes, face painting, games, bounce house and much more. Children who enrolled participated in lots of activities and enjoyed all the entertainment provided by the library. The UT Extension Office also provided a nutrition program with cooking and nutritional facts present by Jackie Payne. There were a total of 161 children enrolled and over 5, 000 books read.
The library continued the tradition that was started last year of taking donations during the summer for three local non-profit organizations. As children and adults read a book and brought in a donation they were entered into a weekly door prize drawing. Lots of items were donated and we are most appreciative.
Programming at the library will continue throughout the year with Lego Club, Story Time, Home School Group, and more. For additional information on these programs, call the library at 423.626.5414 or visit the library’s Facebook Page.
